Smart phone market

As the CEO of NSN said , in the next few years it going to be the world of Smart devices which is going to rule the world of communications. I am already seeing the options flowing in life.

Just few days back i decided to give up my blackberry as using and maintain a blackberry is a costly affair.  Just because i want to use a backberry , my Operator charges me blackberry charges.  simple internet services costs me minimum of 600 rs and don't forget the taxes over that.

Started looking for the smart phones. I kept my Budget around 10K -- 15 K. Well there are lot of options available on the market. Thanks to the Samsung and Android phones.  I feel Nokia has been left behind. The empty Nokia priority shops are the evidence of it.

I came to know about few more things to look at --> ( Copied from other site )

#1 Your phone provider – If you don’t plan on switching phone providers, make sure you look at the phones that your carrier only supports. There are a lot of smart phones out there that don’t work with certain providers.

#2 The data plan – Smart phones are a little more than your usually mobile phone. The reason this is, is because you’re going to have to add on a data plan. Make sure you compare prices to other mobile carriers to ensure you’re getting the best price.

---- I did a mistake here, Data plans are too high with Airtel.

#3 The battery life – You can get a lot of reviews online and while the manufacture will generally tell you how long the battery is going to last, you may want to get an opinion from actual users. You don’t want a phone that is only going to last a few hours.

------ In 3G network the battery life sucks, that too with GPS on the battery sucks.

#4 The operating system – In today’s day and age, all smart phones have different based operating systems. Whether you’re using an Apple, Android, or Blackberry, you will want to know what each operating system can do for you.

---- Came to know that there are few more. Bada OS from Samsung, Symbian on Nokia mobiles and Apple OS on Iphones.
Now i want to feel the Android phone which has stormed the market.

#5 Usability – When I say this, you’re going to find that each phone is different with its look and how you can use it. For example, do you want a small keyboard attached? Do you want a flip phone, one that slides, etc? You will really want to get one that is comfortable for you.

#6 Features – Yes, while many smart phones have the same features such as a camera, caller ID, and more. The one thing that I would look for is the applications. For example, you’re going to find a bigger variety between the iPhone, Android, and more.

#7 Multimedia – Some phone carriers have 3G covers, while some such as Sprint have 4G. Basically, the higher the number, the faster your streaming / internet coverage is going to be. This may not be important to some, but if you find yourself streaming music and more, you may want to look into this.

#8 Add ons – With a smart phone, you’re going to get more than a phone. For example, I love my Android phone. I can convert it into a GPS and mount it to my car’s windscreen. This is one example that you can use. Look at accessories and see what you can do.

#9 The size – I have played with some phones in the actual store and have found that some screen sizes are really small. If you have bad eyesight such as mine, you’re going to find that you’re going to want a bigger screen. It also helps to have a bigger screen if you have big fingers like me!

#10 The memory / Processing speed – The last thing on my list is the memory. While this isn’t a problem with many phones, if you’re going to store a lot of items such as pictures, movies, and more, you’re going to want to make sure you have a lot of space.

So guys the Life is getting difficult in selecting the right one, I think in future we might have consultants who would help people choosing the right phones.
