Weekend ride from Chennai

After a long time doing a solo ride, My bike was in Chennai, so finally got it back to Bangalore. All now it is waiting for is to get a new Registration number from Karnataka.

Few thing while riding --

   a. Local chat with the Water melon vendor -  I was saying to the vender, You are selling for rs 12 a KG, where as retail vendors like Relience is giving it cheaper as, Rs 9 per KG. He was explaining the logic behind the price. Being a small vendor, he would go to the producer near Thindivanam, He would pick up a farm which would give him around 8 tons of Watermelon. His cost for a Kilo of Watermelon is 8 Rs /Kg.  ( i.e around 60000 for 8 Tons of Watermelon ).  The trasnport is his cost. which would be around 5000 rs to get it till Krishnagiri.  The Watermelon is in open air, hence it would reduce weight with time, He would loose around half a ton due to Evaporation due to sunlight, would take 10 to 20 days to sell it all, which means his income is added. As keeping on road side, he might have to bribe or give away free Watermelon which would be 5% generally to the cost, like ( 5000 rs ) .

Relience on the other end, would generally get a good deal buying like 100 tons, then it would use Refrigerated Vans, Hence they generally would not loose the weight of the Raw meterial. As a retail giants, they would only spend on disel for transport and don't have to Bribe, so they would make money with 10 rs a Kilo also.

Other interesting discussion on the Breakfast table --

Morning I was sharing the breakfast table with two other guys who were discussion on how his friend got cheated. A person came to his friend shop saying he was need of money and wanted it urgently around 50 thousand, and would give his Gold chain worth 80 Thousand, His friend thought that the deal is worth and check the purity of the chain by checking at the hook, and first few beads of the chain, All were pure gold, so he paid him 50000 rs Thinking that the deal was 30000 rs Cheaper than market. He took it to Polish shop, There the person informed, Sir, Only the Hook and first and last bead is Original Gold other all are covering Gold. Then he realized it seems he had lost more than 45000 rs in the transaction, and were discussing how people come up with idea of cheating others.

Well Till people wanted to make quick money, then definitely there would be people who would cheat.

 

Came down fast as everyone in India were watching the match against Pakistan, which India Won.
