Melodies - the insight of Kariarasu kannadasan songs.

Yesterday was listening to the old melodies of Kaviarsu  Kannadasan, From the film "SooryakAnthi" (Sunflower)

paramashivan kazhutthilirunthu pAmbu kEttathu
garudA soukkhyamA
irukkum idatthil irunthu kondAl ellAm soukkhyamE
garudan sonnathu-- athil arttham uLLathu

The snake, from its place on Lord Shiva's neck, asked GarudA: "GarudA, are you fine?"
GarudA replied: "When one is one's appointed place, all is always well"...(those words) have (profound) meaning.

well to people how don't know Garuda, Garuda was the ally of the gods and the trusty mount of Vishnu, as well as the implacable enemy of snakes, upon whom he preyed at every opportunity.

uyarntha idatthil irukkum pOthu ulagam unnai mathikkum
un nilamai konjam irangi vanthAl nizhalum kooda mithikkum

When you are in a high position the world respects you
If your position comes down a little, even your shadow will step on you

The next lines speaks of life as a cart :). where the couples are wheels of the cart, to go in the right directions both have to be of same size, or the life doesn't move straight.

All these lines were written long ago, but still their meanings are so true. :)
