This Day Last Month - 25th Aug 2009

Time to visit the heavenly valley on the way back, We have to start from Leh, Early morning we planned to start by 7.00 out of Hotel, but you know in a trip nothing goes as planned. Started from Hotel by 9.00. Filled the petrol in the Army Iron Jerry cans which Tarak and Santhanu bought in Leh as Souvenirs and Our bikes Tanks were filled as well. we started our ride, Almost an hour of ride, we stopped for the Natures call. Suddenly we realized one of the jerry cans which was carried by Tarak was leaking, We opened all the bags and to check if things were all right. Then in karu tried finding M-Seal, we sealed the jerry  cans and started riding. The ride till Tanglanla was on beautiful roads. we reached Tanglangla at 2.00 am. Then we crossed to find a place to eat. :( the food was ok, but even he had given any thing I would have had it full. One thing one has to say about the valley. It was the most beautiful views, Let me attach the views.

View-Tanglangla

The road which leads to this heavenly valley is

Road to Heaven

:) Once you cross the Tanglangla it opens you to the more plains, (proununced as moori ) This planes is around 30-35 Kms. if one stands in one side, the other side is 35 kms, a plains where there is half laid road, and bridges are not over for almost two years, one when takes diversion, the bike can sink in the sand dunes. To tell you truth i felt there was not so much fine sand even in the Rajasthan. One has to be very careful while riding through the More plains. :).

This is place is also very near to me..:) i tried to do 270 deg panoramic  view with my bike, let me put that link as well.
moreplains and my bike

This view you are seeing is merge of some 15 pictures.

more plains panorama

Once you see this that means its end of More plains. :) From here the descent starts to the Pang, just 5 kms from this point. Pang is one of the highest world's Highest transit camp, at 15,640 feet above sea level. When it comes to world records for Heights, we are seeing the Highest, atleast we claim to have, but i seriously doubt our claims.

Bit of goolge, there is one place called Marsimik La, its the highest morotable pass. :)  Khardung la is Highest motorable Road.
Xinjiang - Lhasa Highway claims to be the worlds highest Highway. :). Anyways when one goes behind records looses the focus.
( Not my pic )

I enjoyed my ride today, and the first day my High altitude sleeping bag which i got from Pathankot came handy. I was sweating inside the sleeping bag in night, :) it was original one I guess which he claimed to work in very high altitudes. I should test it once in winter and then tell its worth the price.

In the Night, a Old firangs ( german ) with his girl friend was Touring in a Machismo 500. broke his clutch wire and group of 5 people fixed it. :-) it was good experience. A simple problem was his Old clutch was a manipulated one, and due to which it was hard to replace it.

Finally Rested in the tents. :) I stayed in the same tent i stayed two years back. Thats something nice, to meet known people.
